Okay so Doja Cat is one of those artists where you listen to her music and kind of feel a bit of a wannabe cause you’re so vanilla compared to how cool her music is. Or at least that’s how I feel when I listen to her stuff. Her music is so hip-hop/r&b fashionable that you could just imagine all the tumblr hipster girls saying ‘oh my god I love Doja Cat! You’ve probably never heard of her.’ But with that aside I could definitely imagine her becoming a big hit in the future. I mean, there are worse mainstream artists so if she’s actually good then hopefully she’ll get somewhere.
(Did I forget to mention the theme around cats? I love her already.)
Doja Cat is a prime example of one of those female musicians who exude sex and can get away with raunchy lyrics and music that you definitely couldn’t show your grandma. Singing about “Ice Cream Pu$$y” and being “So High,” this is one girl who’s repping female sexuality.
The slow burning track “So High” recently hit the popular chart on Hypem, where it rightly deserves it’s place. Doja Cat’s vocals were fused onto the top of Evil Needles – “Falling Leaves,” making for a collaboration that works incredibly well. Check it out below, along with “Ice Cream Pu$$y” and “Under Pressure.”
If Doja Cat isn’t for you, you can check out Evil Needles – “Falling Leaves,” which, without Doja Cat’s vocals is still a gorgeous chillwave track perfect for the summer.
